Children Dentistry
in South Ripley

Introducing your children to dental visits at an early age plays a big role in a child’s relationship with oral health. Our team strives to develop a confident and positive relationship with your child, helping them to build good oral hygiene habits as they grow.

The First Steps

We understand young children are really nervous for their first few visits to the dentist. This is why we offer a wide range of dental care services to introduce to your children, including:

  • A comprehensive examination of teeth and gums
  • Early orthodontic assessments
  • Fissure sealants
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Oral hygiene counselling for parents and children
  • Nitrous oxide sedation (Happy Gas)

A Little Extra Comfort.

What is Happy Gas?

We understand that the sights and sounds of a dental clinic can feel a bit overwhelming for little ones. To help our patients feel completely at ease, we offer Happy Gas, which is a gentle blend of nitrous oxide and oxygen that your child breathes through a scented nose mask. They’ll stay awake, chatty, and able to express how they feel the whole time, creating a relaxed sensation that melts away the dental jitters.

Worry Less — use CDBS.

Are you eligible for CDBS?

Many dental clinics offer Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) bulk billing for eligible children (ages 0–17) for up to $1,158 in a range of dental services over two calendar years.

From dental cleaning services, fissure sealings, to root canal therapy and extractions, your child’s dental needs may cost you nothing out of pocket.

You may be eligible if:
your children are under 18 years of age,
they qualify for Medicare, and
you or they get a qualifying payment from Centrelink at least once in the calendar year.

Contact us to find out about the qualifying payments.

If my child is eligible, how do we claim this benefit?

Let our team know if you want to use the CDBS! We will check your balance and process claims for you on the spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should my child first see a dentist?

We recommend having their first visit by age two, or within 6 months of their first tooth appearing. This early introduction helps us monitor development and allows your child to get comfortable in a relaxed environment.

Yes. We use modern digital X-ray plates and low-radiation imaging technology designed to minimise exposure while providing clear, accurate diagnostic images. X-rays are only recommended when clinically necessary to monitor your child’s teeth, jaw development, and overall oral health.
This is a dental myth and is actually not true. Baby teeth plays an essential role in speech, mastication, and most importantly, they help guide permanent adult teeth into correct positions. Losing baby teeth too early may also be an indication that there will be crowding problems later. It is important we take care of teeth even from a very young age. Keeping baby teeth healthy ensures that adult teeth will later develop in a healthy environment

If a tooth is knocked out or fractured, contact us immediately. For a knocked-out permanent tooth, place the tooth in milk as soon as possible and see our dentist in South Ripley within 20 minutes only for the best chance of saving it.
